Moving beyond traditional legal frameworks, this work applies modern criminological theories to the digital world. It investigates hacker subcultures, the “Gyges ring” effect of online anonymity, and Bandura’s reciprocal determinism to explain why individuals behave differently in cyberspace. The study offers vital insights for developing preventive strategies against a global, borderless criminal phenomenon.
